Honda didn’t yet announce an official release date for the all-new 2023 Honda HR-V. However, it will go on sale later this year. The 2023 HR-V will likely make its debut in late Winter/early Spring 2022, and production will start soon after. As a result, the release date of the 2023 HR-V will likely be in Fall 2022.

The 2023 HR-V will be available for sale in dealerships throughout the United States and North America. In other countries, Honda will sell a different version of the next-generation HR-V, which is called the Vezel in some international markets.

How much does the 2023 Honda HR-V cost?

The price information is not yet available for the 2023 HR-V. However, given the redesign and feature upgrades, you can expect the 2023 HR-V to cost slightly more than the 2022 HR-V. The starting prices of the 2022 HR-V range from $21,870 MSRP for the LX trim up to $26,670 MSRP for the EX-L trim.

2023 Honda HR-V specs: Will it have the same engine options as the Honda Civic?

One of the weaknesses of the 2022 HR-V is that its 141-hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine is not very powerful. To keep up with its subcompact SUV competitors, the 2023 HR-V might offer more powerful engine options, as detailed by Car and Driver. This could come in the form of the Honda Civic’s 158-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 180-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engines.

The European-spec next-generation Honda HR-V will be powered by the same hybrid powertrain that’s in the Honda Accord and Honda Insight. However, Honda hasn’t said whether or not it will offer a hybrid version of the HR-V in the U.S.

New design for the 2023 Honda HR-V

Honda released holiday card-style wintery stretches of the redesigned 2023 HR-V. Compared to the 2022 HR-V, the front end of the 2023 HR-V is more aggressive and has a more distinctive lower fascia. The grille of the 2023 HR-V features an S-shaped mesh pattern. Also, the hood is lower, and the headlights have a boxier shape.

For the back of the 2023 HR-V, the redesigned crossover slopes down more steeply compared to the 2022 model. Also, the taillights are more curved, while the lower portion of the rear bumper features body-color styling. Additionally, relative to the European-spec version of the next-generation HR-V, the U.S.-spec 2023 HR-V appears to be larger.

As more information about the redesigned 2023 Honda HR-V becomes available, we’ll provide updates. This includes the debut date, official release date, price information with the cost for each trim, engine specs, fuel economy, color options, and a full list of features and technologies.
