We’re so excited to see what the new Honda CR-V brings to the table to tackle rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5. The 2023 Honda CR-V is being redesigned with a sporty makeover and could have more power and capabilities.

2023 Honda CR-V: What’s new?

Get ready because the 2023 Honda CR-V will change the game once it arrives this summer. It has a fresh face with slim LED headlights. We haven’t seen the grille or front bumper yet.

Also, teaser images show a new rear end with verticle lightning elements and new slime horizontal lamps. The sides of the CR-V are sleeker to provide a modern and more confident shape.

Based on the teasers, we can see that the new Honda CR-V aims for a sportier and more rugged vibe. If a CR-V TrailSport model arrives, we hope it’s more than just an appearance package. It will need to keep up with the Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road model.

How much power does the 2023 CR-V have?

We’re still waiting to learn more about the 2023 Honda CR-V. Honda has been pretty quiet about its updates. But we should learn more any day now since the 2023 model will arrive by the end of the summer.

The teaser images suggest that a Honda CR-V Hybrid model is on the way. We aren’t sure if the CR-V will be hybrid only or if it will be available with a gas-powered engine.

The 2022 CR-V comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four engine that cranks out 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque.

This amount of power is adequate. It’s enough for passing others on the highway and merging into traffic, but it’s not exactly exciting. The CR-V can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.2 seconds with this engine.

It has responsive handling, corners well, and feels stable around curves. It can only tow up to 1,500 lbs. We hope it gets a little more muscle to tow at least 3,500 lbs.

The hybrid model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors to generate 212 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. The new Hybrid CR-V could use the same powertrain or a new setup.

How much does the 2023 CR-V cost?

Official pricing for the 2023 Honda CR-V hasn’t been released. The 2022 model starts at $26,400. The price may increase to about $27,000 to cover the new look and other upgrades. We can’t wait to see the new interior, which may have an optional third row.

The standard 5.0-inch color radio screen might get dropped, and the 7.0-inch infotainment screen might be replaced by a larger unit. The system will benefit from better-looking graphics and more physical controls.

We wonder if a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a head-up display, 360-degree surround-view camera, and other upgrades are in the works.

The CR-V is already incredibly safe and comes with plenty of standard features. However, the safety features could get even more advanced. We will keep an eye on the CR-V and provide the latest updates.
