What comes with the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV?
Well, for starters, the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV comes with tons of letters. What a mouthful! The new AT4X trim already adds to the ATX with bereft upgrades, but the AEV takes things even further.
The AT4X AEV is similar to the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison with the help of American Expedition Vehicles.
It rides on laser-engraved 18-inch gloss black AEV Salta wheels that include the AEV signature valve system to enhance protection from rocks on the trail. They are wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Territory tires.
The truck includes Multimatic DSSV spool valve dampers and electronic locking differentials in the front and rear. Boron steel skid plates protect the undercarriage. Plus, AEV stamped steel bumpers enhance recovery points in the front and rear.
How capable is the Sierra AT4X AEV?
The 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV has a ground clearance of 11.2 inches. The approach angle is improved to 32.5 degrees with a 23.0-degree breakover angle and a 23.4-degree departure angle.
We aren’t sure about its water fording depth, but we know the steel front bumper is ready to be equipped with a winch. The 3-millimeter thick bumpers are powdered and e-coated for more durability.
According to Pickup Truck Talk, the AT4X AEV uses boron steel skid plates because they are three times stronger than options with cold-stamped high-strenght steel. They’re also lighter and more resistant to bending and gouging.
Off-road rocker panel protectors are available to help protect the truck’s sides from rocks. Plus, you can add a bolt-on step for easier access to the cabin.
The AT4X isn’t short on power. It has a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It might be able to reach 60 mph in about 5.4 seconds.
How much does the 2023 Serra AT4X AEV cost?
Prepare your wallet. The 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X AEV won’t come cheap. We will update you once the official pricing is released. The GMC Sierra AT4X already starts at $79,745. Also, the AEV Bison package adds $5,750 to the price of the Chevy Colorado ZR2.
But the price includes the enhanced look of the unique bumpers, black gloss door handles, and black contrast inner tailgate. The interior will probably feature AEV badges with premium upgrades for enhanced comfort too.
The interior will probably feature the updated 13.4-inch touchscreen with a wireless phone charger, head-up display, and digital gauge cluster. We hope wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.
The AT4X AEV may come with a premium price, but it’s the most capable Sierra ever. Plus, it won’t skimp out on luxury value. Unfortunately, we have to wait a little while to learn more about this truck. However, it should be available by the middle of 2023.
