2023 Genesis G80 specs and features

The base model Genesis G80 is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. It’s available with rear- or all-wheel drive. The Sport trim comes equipped with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 giving you 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. The 2023 Genesis G80 Sport comes with all-wheel drive standard.

The Genesis G80 has a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen that can also use voice commands. Apple CarPaly, Android Auto, satellite radio, and a navigation system are all standard. KBB reviewers call the 12.3-inch digital gauge display sharp-looking and helps create an expansive feeling in the cabin.

The Genesis G80 also comes with a host of standard safety features. Features include forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring and intervention, driver attention warning, lane-keeping system, evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and rear passenger safe-exit system.

Like the models under Hyundai – Genesis’ parent company – the 2023 Genesis G80 comes with some of the best warranties on the market. The powertrain warranty is good for 10 years or 100,000 miles. A basic warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles. The rust and roadside warranties are unlimited miles for seven and five years, respectively.

There are multiple optional upgrades like a panoramic sunroof, soft-closing doors, and a 21-speaker audio system. Those will drive up the price, but the Genesis G80 remains one of the more affordable options in the segment.

Is it worth waiting for a 2023 Genesis G80 model?

Much of what makes the 2023 Genesis G80 a good option in the luxury sedan market can be found in 2022 or 2021 models. TrueCar named the 2022 Genesis G80 the second-best full-size luxury sedan on the market. It’s second only to the Karma GSe-6 – a car that is nearly double the price of a Genesis G80.

The 2022 model was an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ too. Additionally, of the 10 large luxury cars to win that award, Genesis had three of those models.

There is no hybrid powertrain option for the 2023 Genesis G80, which may be a reason to pass on it. But the safety, affordability, features, and warranties make it one of the best luxury sedans on the market.
