The next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor pickup truck will debut sometime in February 2022. There’s a lot we hope to find out about the truck, but probably much more Ford won’t reveal just yet. One of the things we didn’t expect to learn this long before production began is the starting price. However, a report from Ford Authority claims that the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor will start at $52,500.

Currently, the Ford Ranger requires a $1,295 destination charge. It’s unclear whether or not the price provided by Ford Authority includes that amount or not. The publication cites “sources familiar with the matter” as those who revealed the cost of the Ranger Raptor. Although that might sound a bit shady, this wouldn’t be the first time Ford, GM, or another Authority-brand source was correct this far ahead of time.

What is the Ranger Raptor?

If you’re unfamiliar, the Ranger Raptor is the performance model of the truck coming soon. There’s also going to be a Raptor R that gets even beefier than this one. If you know the details of the F-150 Raptor, picture the Ranger pickup truck with the same treatment. Most of the details of the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor are still a mystery, but thanks to rumors and speculation from publications like Motor1, we’ve got a good idea of what it’ll bring to the table.

According to Motor1, the pickup truck should arrive with the twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost from the Bronco or the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 from the Explorer ST. The first of which makes 330 horsepower and the latter 400. As previously mentioned, the Raptor R that’s rumored to be on its way would be the model to get the V8 engine and likely be much more expensive.

Is the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor coming to the US?

With all the rumors, speculation, and updates from Ford, the automaker hasn’t officially said the Ranger Raptor is coming to the US. When it revealed the global version at the end of last year, the US version was left out of the conversation. Ford said it would have more details about the North American availability later. Although the diesel Ranger kept from the US probably wouldn’t have sold well here, we can’t say the same for the Raptor variant.

Not only do Americans love pickup trucks, but they also love big, high-performance models. There’s a reason it’s so hard to find an F-150 Raptor at a fair price. Additionally, since the Ranger Raptor’s announcement for overseas markets, it’s been one of the most asked-about models in the US. There’s almost no doubt the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor would sell well in North America. We think the automaker would be silly not to bring it here, although nobody knows for sure.

When is the official 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor debut?

In a teaser video back in November when the Ranger Raptor was announced, the date “02.2022” appeared on the screen. We know it’s coming during February, but an official day isn’t available yet. Since it’s currently February 2, it’s safe to say it’ll be closer to the end of the month. Ford will likely announce the official day so as many people can watch the debut as possible. Keep an eye out from Ford’s socials for the final announcement of the reveal day.

The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor price is rumored to start at $52,500. That makes it the most inexpensive way to get your hands on any Raptor model. If it shares an engine with the Explorer ST, it’s even more affordable than that. That’s the starting price and details of the upcoming performance model next-generation Ranger Raptor.
