We’re excited to share that the new Ford Ranger is getting a lot from its bigger brother. Like the Ford F-150, the Ranger has a Raptor model. Plus, the 2023 Ford Ranger could get the Pro Power Onboard Generator to help power homes and worksites like the full-size F-150.

New features are reportedly in the works for the 2023 Ford Ranger. It could be getting the Pro Power Onboard Generator, which is an option that’s currently only available with the Ford F-150.

Recently, spy shots captured a ford Ranger model with a longer bed. The truck looks a lot longer than the vehicles around it. It also features more space between the rear door and rear wheel, and the exhaust exits to the right.

It’s hard to tell how much longer the bed is, but sources estimate that the Ranger could be 10 to 12 inches longer than the regular model.

The side of the bed features a 12V socket, 400V inverter, and an American-style household outlet. These features are similar to the outlets found with the F-150’s Pro Power Onboard Generator.

Also, the truck was spotted in Australia with a left-hand drive configuration. This may indicate that the Generator is only available with the American version of the Ranger. However, it could be the first glimpse of the hybrid Ranger.

How much power does the 2023 Ranger generator have?

We will have to wait for official specs about the 2023 Ford Ranger to arrive to see how much power it has. The Pro Onboard Generator may feature less power with the Ranger due to its smaller engine.

The 2.0 kW generator is available with the 2.7-liter V6, 3.5-liter V6, and 5.0-liter V8 engines. It provides 2,000 watts to power tools such as circular saws and speakers. It can also power TVs, electric heaters, a mini-fridge, and other items found at tailgates and campsites.

With the F-150 PowerBoost, you get the 2.4 kW generator standard, and it provides up to 2,400 watts. On a full tank of gas, the PowerBoost can power devices at full capacity for up to 85 hours.

You can upgrade to the 7.2 kW generator with the PowerBoost Hybrid. It provides up to 7,200 watts and can power larger tools such as hammer drills, flood lights, and plasma cutters. Under normal use, it can power a home for up to three days.

Does the 2023 Ranger have a new engine?

The 2023 Ford Ranger might not have new engine options or more power in America yet. It’s expected to arrive with the same 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine from the previous generation with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Rumors suggest that a hybrid engine is in the works for later in the year. Other countries get options like the 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder engine with 210 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. It also has a manual transmission.

Perhaps getting a Pro Power Onboard Generator in America and a hybrid Ranger is a fair trade-off for the lack of diesel engines and a manual transmission. Stay tuned to see just how much power the Ranger has as it makes its American debut soon.
