On the performance front, the 2023 Ford Maverick offers two engine options. Its standard hybrid engine produces 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque, while its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. In comparison, all 2023 Honda Ridgeline models are powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.

Also, with its tighter turning circle (40 vs. 43.4 feet), the Maverick is more maneuverable than the Ridgeline. 

Maverick vs. Ridgeline: Gas mileage

For efficiency, the Maverick has the advantage. The Maverick Hybrid gets an estimated gas mileage of up to 42 city/33 highway mpg, while the fully gas-powered Maverick gets a fuel economy of up to 23 city/30 highway mpg. For the 2023 Maverick, the official price information is not yet available. However, the 2023 Maverick will likely cost slightly more than the 2022 version. The starting price of the 2022 Maverick ranges from $20,995 MSRP for the XL trim up to $26,860 MSRP for the Lariat trim.
