Ford is listening to buyers, and it shows. While there was a lot of hype around a potential Ford Maverick Tremor off-road package, Ford confirmed all the details. Plus, order banks are officially open tomorrow for buyers to order a new Maverick Tremor pickup truck, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Edge, Ranger, F-150, Super Duty, and Transit.

The automaker says the Ford Maverick Tremor is an entry-level truck for buyers who want to explore off-road a bit more but still need a reliable, compact truck. The Maverick fits into many lifestyles, and the Tremor package will only make that more true. The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor off-road package comes with a $2,995 MSRP. The Tremor Appearance Package costs $1,495. Both packages will be available for order in September, and production begins this fall. Ford hasn’t explicitly released the price for the 2023 Maverick yet, but it will presumably stick around the $20,000 range.

Buyers can opt for the Tremor package on the XLT trim or the Lariat trim, offering an extra inch of ground clearance. This will also get Ford’s exclusive Trail Control feature, which offers tailored front and rear suspension, upgraded all-wheel drive with four-wheel-drive lock, and the popular 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine.

Ford says that owners of the Ford Ranger, F-150, and Super Duty have already been able to embrace the off-road lifestyle, and the Maverick is up next.

“Maverick Tremor delivers on this same promise with new functions and features designed for off-roading – all while keeping the truck’s signature size, affordability, and Built Ford Tough durability and capability.”

Todd Eckert | Ford truck product marketing and brand manager

The 2.0-liter EcoBoost Maverick engine will use a revamped version of the FX4 Off-Road Package with a new all-wheel drive system. This gets a twin-clutch rear-drive unit with a differential lock feature that will help drivers off the beaten path. With five drive modes, drivers can select the mode quickly to ensure your off-road adventure is safe and exciting. Ford says the new Maverick Tremor is suitable for pavement, mud, sand, snow, and towing capability.

The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor gets Trail Control, similar to cruise control for off-roading situations. Drivers can select a speed to cruise at while the Ford pickup truck does the rest. It can be used in mud and dirt, giving buyers even more control.

New front and rear springs also help smooth the ride. A new heavy-duty transmission ensures the truck’s power won’t be compromised in sticky situations. Ford equipped the 2023 Maverick Tremor with a maximum tow rating of 2,000 pounds and a payload of 1,200 pounds. That means bikes or camping gear won’t be an issue.

The Tremor will get a unique grille, blacked-out logos, taillights, and headlights. Ford painted the two front hooks orange to match the theme and added other orange accents throughout. The available Tremor Appearance Package ($1,495) adds a carbonized Gray-painted roof, mirror caps, and black side graphics. A Tremor Orange exterior color is available with a dark gray anodized finish.

If you are at all considering purchasing the 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor off-road package, get ready to place an order. Many buyers from 2022 have not received trucks yet, and the orders will likely roll over to 2023. That’s a big chunk of trucks already spoken for on one of the most talked about pickup trucks in the last five years.
