You can’t tell the Ford Maverick to slow down. The 2023 Ford Maverick ST could already be racing to production, proving a new street racing model. We’re still not over the regular trim levels, and now it’s getting even faster?!

2023 Ford Maverick ST release date and specs

We’ve spied secret shots of the possible 2023 Ford Maverick ST with our little eyes. If this racing truck is really happening, then it could make its debut by the end of the year to be available for 2023.

Up until recently, the Maverick ST was just a rumor, but now more and more evidence about the high-performance racing truck is starting to emerge. Spy images caught the little racing truck around the Ford testing track.

While the Maverick is partially covered in camouflage, you can spot a dual exhaust. The Ford Explorer ST has a dual exhaust too. Regular Maverick models currently have a single outlet.

An extra intercooler could be behind the grille, and the fenders may stick out a bit further. Also, the wheel wells look larger, but the arches and rims are hidden.

According to Motor1, the intercooler sparks interest because it may indicate that the Maverick needs extra cooling. It could be required for an enhanced powertrain.

How much does the Maverick ST cost?

Official pricing for the 2023 Ford Maverick ST hasn’t been announced. You can get started in a 2022 Maverick for about $19,995. This is the MSRP and doesn’t include destination fees or dealership markups.

The top-spec Lariat trim brings the price up to about $27,335. The Maverick ST could range between $25,000 to $30,000 depending on how much equipment it gains.

Also, it may incorporate a racing-oriented interior with premium luxury. Steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters would up the fun, and metal petals would be exciting.

With the Maverick Hybrid, you get the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with an electric motor to crank out 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque.

Both powertrain options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Maverick can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.4 seconds, which is pretty exciting. But we hope the ST brings more power as appearance packages can be a letdown.

There are more than just rumors about the 2023 Ford Maverick ST floating around. However, the 2023 Maverick could primarily be a carryover model. Some fans really hope that the Hybrid model will be available with AWD.

Of course, there are rumors about an off-roading trim floating around. But the spy shots seem to show racing upgrades instead of rugged equipment. The off-roading MAverick would need a lifted suspension and skid plates.

The off-roading model could be the Maverick Raptor or the Maverick Rattler. The Maverick Rattler makes sense as it’s an affordable truck and the Ford F-150 Rattler provides economical off-roading upgrades.

We could learn more about the 2023 Maverick ST soon because it could arrive in the summer. Ording books for the 2023 Maverick open in August, so more news may arrive any day now.
