2023 Ford Maverick Production Pushed Back Until Mid-November
Ford has been running to delays with its popular Maverick pickup truck. It looks like the 2023 Ford Maverick production start date has been pushed back again. When will Ford open the order banks for the 2023 truck, and how much is production delayed?
The 2023 Ford Maverick production is delayed a few weeks

Just a few weeks ago, some Ford Maverick buyers received notice that some unfulfilled 2022 orders would be rolled over to 2023. There was some back and forth about when those buyers would be able to put in a new order. Ford initially said the order banks would open the first week of August but bumped it to September 15. Now, Ford Authority reports that production for the Ford truck is also pushed back a few weeks.
2022 Final Production Date | 2023 Order Bank Opening Date | 2023 Production Start | |
As of July 29 | |||
Ford Maverick Hybrid | October 21, 2022 | August 2, 2022 | October 24, 2022 |
Ford Maverick EcoBoost | October 21, 2022 | August 2, 2022 | October 24, 2022 |
As of August 5 | |||
Ford Maverick Hybrid | November 14, 2022 | September 15, 2022 | November 14, 2022 |
Ford Maverick EcoBoost | November 11, 2022 | September 15, 2022 | November 14, 2022 |
Production was slated to begin at the Ford Hermosillo Assembly plant in October, but that has been moved to mid-November now. Ford has extended production of the 2022 truck due to overwhelming amounts of unfulfilled orders.
2023 Ford Maverick production is also going to include the new Tremor package
The automaker says the Ford Maverick Tremor is an entry-level truck for buyers who want to explore off-road a bit more but still need a reliable vehicle. The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor off-road package comes with a $2,995 MSRP. The Tremor Appearance Package costs $1,495.
Buyers can opt for the Tremor package on the XLT trim or the Lariat trim, offering an extra inch of ground clearance. This will also get Ford’s exclusive Trail Control feature, which offers tailored front and rear suspension, upgraded all-wheel drive with four-wheel-drive lock, and the popular 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine.
Ford yes yet to release the price for the 2023 Maverick, but it will presumably stick around the $20,000 range.
The Ford Bronco SUV and F-150 Lightning electric truck are also popular
Ford closed the order banks for the Maverick earlier this year as the initial response was overwhelming. Between the popularity of the Maverick, the Bronco SUV, Mustang Mach-E, and the F-150 Lightning electric truck, Ford has had a lot of hits on its hands.
Since then, the automaker has faced a lot of production delays thanks to the semiconductor chip shortage and other difficulties. Some buyers are sitting around with an unfulfilled 2022 Maverick order, who will hypothetically be first in line for the 2023 truck. Information about this and the pricing should be out on or around September 15, 2022.
