The Ford Bronco and the Chevrolet Blazer are two different SUVs. However, one thing they have in common is that they are both new versions of formally discontinued vehicles. In addition, both the Ford Bronco and the Blazer from Chevy returned for the 2021 model year. Now, both SUVs have new models for 2023, but which is the better of the two?

Performance is perhaps the most important component of any great vehicle. Regarding the Ford Bronco 2023, there are two engine options, none of which are a V8. According to Car and Driver, the 2023 Ford Bronco has a standard 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The more powerful option for the Bronco is a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6; the maximum outputs are 300 horsepower and 330 horsepower, respectively.

The Chevy Blazer 2023 has larger engine options but produces less power. It also comes in two options, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and a 3.6-liter V6. The smaller engine option has a maximum output of 228 hp, whereas the 3.6-liter produces 308 horsepower. Regarding transmissions, the Blazer has a nine-speed automatic, and the new Bronco has options for both manual and automatic.

Which is best for interior features?

The interiors of the 2023 Bronco and the Chevy Blazer 2023 are different. For the Blazer, the cabin is designed for comfort and everyday driving. However, the inside of the Bronco has features that lend themselves to off-roading and general driving. For this reason, both are great, but the inside of the Blazer offers more standard interior features.

Regarding technology, the new Blazer comes standard with a 10.2-inch HD touchscreen. Buyers can upgrade this to a color screen with Chevy’s premium infotainment system. On the Bronco, there is a standard 8-inch screen with the option to make it a 12-inch. Both vehicles have similar sound systems with options for upgrades.

Price is one of the most important factors in comparing vehicles. Prices are pretty similar for the new Ford Bronco and Chevy Blazer. The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer has a slightly higher starting price of $35,100. Just a tad under that is the new Bronco, starting at $34,095.

However, the thing to remember is that Ford built the Bronco to master all driving situations. To do this, the automaker offers various upgrades to suit different needs. Some versions of the Bronco are super spartan, whereas some are much more lavish. This means that although the price starts slightly lower than that of the Blazer, it could easily end up costing more.

The new Blazer and Bronco show a market for older vehicles returning to production. However, they are two different SUVs. The Bronco is a vehicle designed for both off-roading and cruising the streets. In comparison, the new Blazer is more of your standard SUV or crossover. Both are great and can serve multiple types of customers, but one has capabilities the other does not.
