The 2023 Cadillac Escalade offers three engine options: a 6.2-liter V-8, a 3.0-liter diesel inline-six, and a 6.2 supercharged V-8 for the high-performance V-Series trim. Here is the horsepower (hp) and torque (lb-ft) output for each engine:

  • 6.2-liter V-8: 420 hp/460 lb-ft
  • 3.0-liter diesel inline-six: 277 hp/460 lb-ft
  • 6.2 supercharged V-8: 682 hp/653 lb-ft

All of the engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The regular Escalade model offers a choice of either a rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive system, while the V-Series trim comes standard with all-wheel drive.

For acceleration, the regular Escalade has a 0-60 mph time as low as 5.9 seconds, while the V-Series completes the sprint in 4.4 seconds. On the efficiency front, the luxury SUV has an estimated gas mileage of up to 21 city/27 highway mpg. Also, the Escalade can tow up to 8,200 pounds.

What’s new for the 2023 Escalade?

The most significant change for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade is the addition of the V-Series model to the trim lineup. Along with a more powerful engine, the V-Series has unique features. This includes a blacked-out exterior, exclusive V-Series front and rear fascias, six-piston Brembo performance brakes with red-painted calipers, and distinctive 22-inch aluminum wheels.

Also, the 2023 Escalade offers two new exterior paint color options: Argent Silver Metallic, Dark Emerald Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. Additionally, it features a new digital owner’s manual.

The Cadillac Escalade is the quintessential American luxury SUV — and it flexes its muscles with the new high-performance V-Series trim. However, with its hefty price, the Escalade doesn’t come cheap, especially with the high cost of the upper trim levels.
