When will the 2023 BMW X2 be released and available?

The release date of the 2023 BMW X2 was in March 2022. However, the 2023 X2 likely won’t be available at most BMW dealerships throughout the U.S. and in various international markets until late Summer/early Fall 2022. The BMW X2 is built alongside the X1 at BMW’s plant in Regensburg, Germany.

How much does the 2023 BMW X2 cost?

The starting base price of the 2023 BMW X2 luxury crossover SUV is $36,000 MSRP, which is for the front-wheel drive sDrive28i trim. The starting cost of the all-wheel drive xDrive28i trim is $38,600 MSRP. 

BMW didn’t yet release the 2023 model year price information for the high-performance M35i trim, though. However, the 2023 M35i will likely cost slightly more than the 2022 M35i, which has a starting price of $46,450 MSRP.

The sDrive28i and xDrive28i trims for the 2023 BMW X2 feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it generates 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The X2 has a top speed of 130 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 6.1 seconds.

Also, for a more powerful driving experience, the X2 offers the M35i trim. The BMW M35i features a specially-tuned variation of the turbo 2.0L engine, which doles out 301 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. With the powerful engine, the BMW M35i has a top speed of 155 mph and completes the 0-60 mph sprint in only 4.6 seconds.

For efficiency, the standard X2 model has an estimated gas mileage of up to 24 city/32 highway mpg, while the M35i trim has a fuel economy of up to 23 city/30 highway mpg. Also, the X2 can tow up to 1,800 kilograms (3,968 pounds).

The 2023 BMW X2 offers a stylish new Edition GoldPlay model. The X2 GoldPlay is available with the M Sport package, which includes a specially-tuned suspension and steering system.
