Today’s head-to-head battle involves two excellent hybrid options. The 2022 Toyota Venza is facing the 2022 Toyota RAV4. The Toyota Venza and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid both have unique pros and cons to consider.

The first thing to consider when SUVs battle is price. You can get started in a 2022 Toyota Venza for about $32,890. The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid begins at around $29,075. So, the Venza is about $3,800 more, but it’s considered to be a little more luxurious. Also, these prices are listed before the destination fees, and dealership markups have been added.

Both the Venza and RAV4 Hybrid get an EPA-estimated 41 mpg in the city and up to 38 mpg on the highway. This is because both vehicles are equipped with the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 219 hp.

Does the Venza or RAV4 Hybrid perform better?

The 2022 Toyota Venza has three electric motors, while the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid only has two. As a result, the Venza is a little faster. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.6 seconds, while the RAV4 Hybrid reaches 60 mph in about 7.8 seconds

While the RAV4 Hybrid has a bit of a mushy brake, it feels stable and well planted around curves. The Venza provides responsive handling but seems to feel as sporty as it looks. The Venza provides a smoother ride and a quieter interior.

All-wheel drive is standard across each Venza and RAV4 Hybrid model. While the Toyota Venza isn’t rated for towing, the RAV4 Hybrid can tow up to 1,750 lbs when properly equipped. That’s good for a small trailer.

The 2022 Toyota Venza may provide more comfort as a daily driver. The interior includes well-padded, supportive seats that are available with heat and ventilation. Taller people may struggle to find the perfect position in the RAV4 Hybrid.

Does the Venza or RAV4 Hybrid have better features?

The 2022 Toyota Venza is slotted above the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid but doesn’t provide more space. In fact, for being a larger vehicle, the Venza feels a tad bit smaller than the RAV4 Hybrid.

With the Venza, you get 28.8 cubic feet of cargo space with up to 55.1 cubes total. The RAV4 Hybrid provides 37.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats with up to 69.8 cubes total.

Both the RAV4 Hybrid and Venza feature interiors with high-quality, luxury materials. But the Venza takes things a step further with a massive panoramic sunroof that can go from transparent to opaque with the flip of a switch.

The RAV4 Hybrid comes with a 7.0-inch infotainment display. An 8.0-inch unit is standard with the Venza, but you can upgrade to the 12.3-inch unit. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard with both SUVs.

Both SUVs feature standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control.

While the 2022 Toyota Venza offers a smoother ride and more luxury amenities, the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has a lower price and more space. We recommend giving both options a test drive.
