Consumer Reports gives the 2022 Toyota Highlander a higher road test score

Consumer Reports gives the 2022 Toyota Highlander an overall score of 88. Meanwhile, it gives the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander just a 57. That’s a pretty big difference. So what are the biggest differences between these two SUVs? For one thing, the Highlander has a higher road test score. It gets an 86 to the Outlander’s 71.

Pretty much every subcategory of the Highlander is higher than the Outlander as well. Aceleration in the Toyota SUV is a 4/5 while in the Outlanderk it’s only a 3/5. Comfort is higher in the Highlander as well, with the ride getting a 4 to the Outlander’s 2. However, the Outlander does have its high points. Overall, Consumer Reports gives the Highlander a predicted reliability rating of 5/5. It used data from the 2020 and 2021 models to come up with this prediction. Both of these models get a perfect reliability rating of 5/5.

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, on the other hand, gets a predicted reliability rating of 2/5. To come up with this prediction, Consumer Reports used data from the Nissan Rouge, which it says shares a platform. The 2022 Nissan Rogue has a predicted reliability rating of 2/5.
