Subaru debuted the Crosstrek in 2013. In its few years on the market, it has gained the reputation of a dependable crossover vehicle. The Crosstrek is more affordable than the larger Forester and Outback models. It may be small but there are plenty of other great small off-road SUVs on the market.

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek got a refresh. The 2022 model doesn’t include many updates from its previous iteration, however, last year’s refresh was enough to make the crossover competitive. The 2021 model is the first major refresh since the 2018 model. Subaru’s 2021 Crosstrek model year introduced the Crosstrek Sport, a trim that included a more powerful engine.

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek also introduced a new leather-alternative upholstery option for the crossover’s interior called StarTex. StarTex upholstery is also water-repellent.

The 2021 model is championed as the safest Crosstrek ever thanks to new safety and driver assistance features. The Crosstrek now includes Pre-Collision Braking, Advanced Adaptive Crusie Control, and many other innovative features that make driving both easier and less risky. The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek may not offer huge improvements, but thanks to the nameplate’s recent refresh, the Crosstrek still offers incredible value.
