According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Rivian R1T starts at $68,145. Its Launch Edition, the trim that’s currently being delivered, starts at a whopping $74,145. This price may seem obscene but rest assured, the R1T is no average electric pickup truck.

The R1T uses a quad-motor system to produce an extraordinary 835 horsepower. The Ram 1500 TRX, once regarded as the most powerful pickup truck on the market, only makes 702 horsepower. 2021 Ram 1500 TRX models currently start at over $70,000.

Power isn’t the only thing that the 2022 Rivian R1T and 2021 Ram 1500 TRX have in common. Both full-size pickup truck models were specifically designed for off-roading. The Rivian R1T is an electric adventure vehicle capable of taking on all sorts of challenges and obstacles that one may encounter in the great outdoors.

The R1T has 14.5 inches of max ground clearance thanks to its air suspension. It has a wading depth of over three feet. The electric pickup made quick work of the Hell’s Gate Hill in Moab, Utah, proving its off-roading prowess.

The Silverado EV is making headlines because some models are capable of traveling for 400 miles before needing to recharge. Today, the average popular electric vehicle gets 200-250 miles of range, so the Silverado EV RST’s range estimate is shocking to say the least.

The most powerful Silverado EV models will produce 664 horsepower. Some models will be able to tow 10,000 pounds. Chevy’s electric truck may be amazing, but the RST model’s high price will make it inaccessible to most consumers. The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST will cost upwards of $105,000 fully loaded.
