The Ram 1500 TRX easily outmuscles the Ram 1500 Rebel. It’s powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi engine, which churns out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. While the Rebel offers three engine options, they are all less powerful than the 6.2-liter Hemi in the TRX.

The base-level 3.6-liter V6 engine in the Rebel generates 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, while the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine doles out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Rebel also offers a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, which produces 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque.

The TRX has the edge for off-road capabilities, especially with its more advanced suspension and wider track width. Also, it has large 35-inch tires, compared to 33-inch tires for the Rebel. Furthermore, TRX can be upgraded to 37-inch tires.

For the drive system, all TRX models have a four-wheel drive with an all-wheel drive transfer case. The Rebel offers either a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive. Also, the all-wheel drive transfer case is not available for the Rebel.

Both the TRX and Rebel have sportier exterior designs compared to the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup. However, the TRX takes the sportiness to a much higher level with its various exterior design elements. This includes wide fender flares, amber marker lights, and a functional hood scoop.

For the interior, all TRX models have leather seats, while the Rebel offers either cloth or leather. Unlike the Rebel, the TRX has a console-mounted shift lever. Both trucks offer the same interior technologies.

Ram 1500 TRX vs. Rebel: Price

Affordability is one area in which the Rebel has a significant advantage over the TRX. Pricing for the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel starts at $47,850. For the 2022 Ram 1500 TRX, pricing starts at $72,390. This is a very large price difference. Also, with options, the cost of the TRX can be pushed to over $95,000.

Another thing to consider is availability. If you head to your local Ram dealership, you’ll likely have no trouble finding a Rebel. However, due to high demand and low inventory, it will probably be more difficult to get a TRX. As a result, dealers frequently mark up the price of the TRX, sometimes as high as $30,000.
