The 2022 Nissan Titan comes in sixth overall on Consumer Reports‘ list of the most expensive vehicles to fill up right now, but it’s first for pickup trucks. The 2022 Nissan Titan costs $107 to fill up according to Consumer Reports’ calculations. It has a 26 gallon tank and can make it 416 miles on a single tank. The Titan can get 11 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, and 16 mpg overall. 

The TItan has below-average reliability

As if its fuel economy isn’t bad enough, Consumer Reports also gives the 2022 Nissan TItan just a 2/5 for its predicted reliability and a 2/5 for its predicted owner satisfaction. Regarding reliability, Consumer Reports says, “We expect the 2022 Titan to be less reliable than other new cars. This prediction is based on Nissan’s brand history and the previous models of the Titan.” While it hasn’t listed reliability ratings for the 2018-2021 Titans, the 2017 Nissan Titan has just a 1/5 for reliability.

While there are no survey results posted for the Nissan Titan about owner satisfaction, only 59% of people who own a Nissan Titan would buy one again. That’s the least in the class and doesn’t bode well for the new Nissan Titan.

How much does the new Nissan Titan cost?

The 2022 Nissan Titan price starts at $38,810. The Nissan Titan hasn’t been redesigned, so it will be a lot like the 2021 Nissan Titan. The Nissan Titan has a King Cab and the Crew Cab and only comes with a 5.6-liter V8 400 hp engine matched to an automatic transmission, according to Car and Driver. This engine can make up to 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. It has a quiet cabin and is comfortable, making it an attractive full-size pickup truck.

The 2022 Titan also has a 9-inch touchscreen and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Nissan Titan’s redesign meant the pickup truck got a whole host of vital safety features, like automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning.

The 2022 Nissan Titan is the most expensive pickup truck to fill up. That may be a surprise considering the fact that while the Titan is certainly a full-size truck, it’s not as large as some other pickups. Still, if you go to the pump to fill your Titan right now, be prepared for a potentially unpleasant surprise. Until gas prices come back down, you’re going to spend a good amount of money to fill up the 2022 Nissan Titan.
