In recent years, something known as “overlanding” has become a popular hobby for auto enthusiasts and those who enjoy the outdoors alike. Essentially, overlanding is a trip to a remote destination where the journey is just as important as where you are going. Typically, some off-roading is done during these kinds of outings, which is why trucks and SUVs are the preferred methods of travel. So, can the 2022 Nissan Frontier pickup be used for overlanding?

What is overlanding?

Overlanding is essentially a way to explore the outdoors. The destination is typically a remote area, and the primary lodging is done by camping or sleeping in your vehicle. In order to take on overlanding, it is important to have the proper tools and equipment. And if you are planning to use an automobile, that means a truck or SUV.

According to MotorTrend, plenty of companies offer aftermarket overland builds for various models. And with its growing popularity, some auto manufacturers are offering vehicles that are pretty much ready for an overland adventure right from the factory.
