The 2022 Kia Telluride Is Here and It’s Got a Couple Of Standard Surprises

The 2022 Kia Telluride has officially arrived, bringing with it some much-welcomed upgrades. Aside from a larger standard infotainment screen measuring 10.25-in, you now get a brand-new front grille and safety tech such as highway driving assist on all trim levels. However, you will see a small price bump of around $600 depending on the trim level.

The 2022 Kia Telluride has officially arrived, bringing with it some much-welcomed upgrades. Over the last few years, the Telluride has become a sales success, even outselling the Sorento by a considerable margin despite being on the market for a short while. As you might imagine, this midsize SUV isn’t due for a full refresh yet. This just means that the 2022 model gets subtle tweaks over massive upgrades.

According to Kia’s latest release, the new 2022 model still has a few surprises up its sleeve. For starters, you’ll get more standard safety features. However, you will have to pay slightly more for this SUV moving forward. Let’s break down the trim levels and see how it stacks up.

What new features does the 2022 Kia Telluride have?

Just a few days ago, we saw leaked images of what appeared to be the 2022 Kia Telluride caught parked outdoors without any camo covering up its upgrades. The first change you’ll notice is that there is a brand-new Kia logo throughout. This is something we had already seen the K5 adopt, so it was only a matter of time until the Telluride followed suit.

Aside from just the new logo, this 2022 model gets a brand-new mesh grille up front. While it’s a subtle upgrade, it refreshes the front end a little without needing a complete facelift. While this is a major change from a branding perspective, you likely won’t see a massive difference once you see 2021 and 2022 models on the road alongside one another.

Fortunately, there are a couple of extra reasons why you might want to wait for the 2022 model instead of snatching up a 2021.

You get extra tech as standard

As expected, the 2022 Kia Telluride still offers up a plethora of standard tech. However, the big differentiator here is that features that were previously reserved for top trim levels have now made it to the lower ones. More superficially, the 10.25-inch central infotainment screen. Previously, customers interested in the lower LX and S trim levels got stuck with an eight-inch screen. However, now the larger display comes as standard.

Aside from the larger screen, the base trim levels of the 2022 Kia Telluride also get automatic temperature control, highway driving assist, and smart cruise control. While these aren’t massive changes by any means, you could easily save by not needing to opt for the higher trim levels to get these tech features. Unfortunately, there is a small price bump.

How much does the 2022 Kia Telluride cost?

It’s true. The 2022 Kia Telluride will cost you slightly more. However, the amount varies depending on which trim level you decide to go with. For example, the base LX FWD starts at $32,790, marking a $600 increase over the 2021 model. The same goes for the S FWD, which starts at $35,290, also reflecting a $600 increase. If you opt for the higher trim levels, you’ll get a smaller price bump. The EX FWD now starts at $37,790, reflecting a $200 increase. The same goes for the top SX FWD, which starts at $42,690, also with a $200 increase.

Regardless of which trim level you end up choosing, you can’t go wrong with the added tech and updated styling.
