The Kia EV6 is the cousin of the World Car of the Year winner, the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5. The Ioniq 5 provides a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. Kia’s EV6 focuses heavily on providing engaging driving dynamics. The EV6 is very much the “fun version” of the more refined Ioniq 5.

The EV6 is slightly more expensive than the Ioniq 5, and it offers quicker trim levels. The EV6 GT-Line is its performance trim. Kia’s electric SUV competes with the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The 2022 Kia EV6 starts at $40,900. It makes 167 horsepower. The electric SUV has a 232-mile standard range. It comes in three trim levels: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. The EV6 features a bold, stylish exterior. It has a spacious cabin, and it handles well on the road. Like the Mach-E the EV6 strives to prove that electric SUVs can be fun to drive.

According to MotorTrend, the 2022 Kia EV6 GT-Line goes from 0-60 miles per hour in about 4.5 seconds. It makes 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. The GT-Line e-AWD starts at $55,900. The electric SUV is currently eligible for federal electric vehicle tax credits as of May 2022.

The 2022 Kia Niro EV brings the value

The 2022 Kia Niro EV is a subcompact electric SUV. It is much smaller than the EV6. The Niro EV’s driving dynamics aren’t as engaging as the EV6, but this small electric vehicle provides plenty of value for its price.

The 2022 Kia Niro EV comes in two trims: the EX and the EX Premium. The EX starts at $39,900. It is eligible for a $7,500 electric vehicle tax credit, bringing its price closer to $32,400.

The Niro EV makes 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. It has an estimated 239-mile driving range. The Niro EV comes standard with cloth and SynTex seating materials, heated front seats, and fast charging capability. It features a smart key with push-button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger.

The Niro EV EX Premium comes with more premium features like heated and ventilated front seats, LED interior mood lighting, and a navigation-based smart cruise control.

Both Kia electric SUVs provide incredible value and unique driving experiences. The 2022 Kia EV6 is the more exciting option. The Niro EV is the more economical option for drivers who could forego the space of a larger SUV. When it comes to the 2022 Kia EV6 vs. 2022 Kia Niro EV, the EV6 is making a bigger impact on the industry. The Niro EV is a great sedan alternative, but it doesn’t excite consumers about the electric future as the sleek and quick EV6 does.

South Korean automaker Kia and its parent company Hyundai are determined to develop a popular electric vehicle nameplate. It appears that the EV6 is Kia’s best hope at a best-selling electric vehicle for the moment. Kelley Blue Book gave the 2022 Kia EV6 a near-perfect expert review.
