Jeep has been stepping up the game lately, adding new options to the 2022 lineup and beyond. The 2022 Jeep Compass has everything buyers might want from the brand but in a more compact body. Car and Driver says the Compass fills the gap between the small Jeep Renegade and the bigger Jeep Cherokee SUV.

Once you go inside the new Compass, the first thing we noticed is the upgraded interior. Our Jeep Compass Limited 4×4 tester boasted appealing two-tone leather and soft-touch surfaces. It offers all of the modern technology buyers would want in a stylish new package. The interior has a new dashboard design and a different tablet-style infotainment system. The 10.1-inch Uconnect display and software are all-new, too.

“Its interior is comfortable, functional, and has enough space for four adult passengers.”

Due to the small size, packing it full of suitcases might not work all that well. However, Car and Driver fit 17 carry-on bags inside without the back seats. Good enough for a weekend trip, right?

The 2022 Jeep Compass comes with two Jeep 4×4 systems and a Selec-Terrain traction management system for all of your off-roading needs. Stellantis says these can “send 100% of available torque to any one wheel.” It has upgraded suspension tuning for a better ride on and off-road, plus a new steering system.

Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 systems are included and instantly engage when the driver needs it. This helps the rear wheels grip when traction might be few and far between. Jeep Active Drive Low comes on the Trailhawk version and offers a “20:1 crawl ratio and low range for 4×4 Trail Rated capability.” The SUV also offers four modes for whatever adventure you might find yourself on. These modes are Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud. The Compass Trailhawk also comes with rock mode.

Speaking of trim levels, check out the options and prices below.

The Sun and Sound Group ($2,195) offers a dual-pane panoramic sunroof for picture-perfect views on your next adventure. It made a big difference when taking the Jeep Compass Limited off-road.

It’s all about the active safety features and warranty

These days, one of the most significant selling points comes from safety and driver-assistance features. The 2022 Jeep Compass comes with forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB), and lane departure warning (LDW). It also comes with lane-keeping assist (LKA) and blind-spot warning (BSW) standard. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Compass high scores in most of the crashworthiness tests.

The 2022 Jeep Compass has a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty. It also comes with a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Jeep covers the maintenance for the first three years. With the starting MSRP of $25,590, the 2022 Compass is ready to impress people from start to finish.
