Infiniti is the luxury division of Japanese automaker Nissan. Infiniti models typically combine incredible performance with opulent cabins. The 2022 Infiniti QX80 and the 2022 Nissan Armada are essentially the same full-size SUV at their core. Is the more affordable Armada actually, the better buy? Time for 2022 Infiniti QX80 vs. the 2022 Nissan Armada.

The 2022 Infiniti QX80 is a classier Nissan Armada

The 2022 Infiniti QX80 is the luxury version of the 2022 Nissan Armada. It starts at $70,600. The full-size SUV uses a 5.6-liter V8 engine to make a massive 400 horsepower. It achieves 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 miles per gallon on the highway.

The new QX80 comes standard with heated first-row leather seats. It features a heated steering wheel. The full-size SUV model includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with a standard smart rearview mirror.

The QX80 has its own WiFi hotspot as well as standard second-row captain’s chairs. This full-size SUV takes comfort and convenience to a whole new level thanks to its standard luxury and tech features.

The 2022 Nissan Armada benefits from a bold new redesign

The 2022 Nissan Armada, like the Infiniti QX80, just got a new redesign. Thanks to its redesign, the Armada actually isn’t very far off from its luxury cousin in terms of capability. The Armada and QX80 both use the same engine, and both achieve 400 horsepower. The QX80 gets an additional gallon of mileage on the highway, but the two full-size SUV models essentially have the same gas mileage as well.

So, what are the differences between these two SUVs? The 2022 Nissan Armada starts at $48,900. While that price is nothing to sneeze at, it’s $21,700 cheaper than the Infiniti QX80. Suddenly the two full-size Japanese SUVs don’t seem so similar after all.

The Nissan Armada surprisingly comes standard with a huge 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well. It includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a suite of safety features called Nissan Safety Shield 360. The safety system comes with 15+ standard safety features, including Nissan Intelligent Driver Alertness and Lane Departure Warning.

When it comes to the 2022 Infiniti QX80 vs. the 2022 Nissan Armada, both full-size SUVs offer plenty of value. The Nissan Armada is the better option for drivers looking to save money, as it comes in five different trim levels that add comfort and luxury.

According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Nissan Armada SL is the best new Armada trim. It starts at $58,205 and features remote start, a leather interior, and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. The new QX80 may be extremely luxurious. It just isn’t worth its $70,000+ price tag for the average consumer. Customize a new Armada to your liking instead to save big bucks.
