The 2022 Nissan Armada vs the 2022 Infiniti QX80: have there ever been two more similar SUVs? It makes sense, considering the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX80 share a platform, yet there are some differences, namely price. Still, is the Infiniti QX80 unique enough from the Nissan Armada to justify its much heftier price tag? Let’s take a look and what Car and Driver has to say about it and what you’ll get in each of these large SUVs.
Is the 2022 Nissan Armada the same as the 2022 Infiniti QX80?
The 2022 Nissan Armada vs the 2022 Infiniti QX80 don’t turn up a whole lot of differences. In fact, Car and Driver says that “apart from the Infiniti badges, it’s fundamentally a gussied-up Nissan Armada, which also happens to cost significantly less.”
So what would be the appeal of spending the extra money to get the Infiniti QX80 over the Nissan Armada? Car and Driver says that it “Looks classier than its Nissan Armada sibling, effortless V-8 powertrain, luxurious interior fit-and-finish.”
How much does the 2022 Nissan Armada cost?
The 2022 Nissan Armada base model S price starts at $50,745. This comes with a 5.6-liter V8 engine that makes 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. This is matched to a seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. You can upgrade to four-wheel drive.
The Nissan Armada S also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a tow-hitch receiver, LED headlights, and power-adjustable front seats. It also comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a navigation system, and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

How much does the 2022 Infiniti QX80 cost?
The 2022 Infiniti X80 price starts at 71,995, according to Car and Driver. While that may pale in comparison to other luxury SUVs, Car and Driver says it’s still too high. However, Car and Driver does add that its “fully independent suspension delivers a tranquil ride and its 400-hp V-8, albeit fuel-thirsty, sounds good and provides ample thrust.” Still, it ranks the QX80 just 14th in the large luxury SUV class.
In addition to the base model Luxe, there is also a Premium Select trim level available for $76,780, and a Sensory for $83,630. For that money, you’ll get most of the things you’d expect in a luxury SUV – leather seats with heat and a heated steering wheel that is power-adjustable. It also has second-row captain’s chairs, a navigation system, and a premium sound system.
Okay, so the 2022 Nissan Armada vs the 2022 Infiniti QX80 isn’t really a battle between two extremely different SUVs. Instead, it’s more a sibling rivalry, with each trying to show off its positive attributes. If either of these SUVs are your style, you’ll probably be equally happy with whichever one you choose. That said, unless the difference is price is no more significant than a cup of coffee to you, you should probably choose the Armada over the QX80. After all, is a heated steering wheel really worth $25,000?
