Luxury SUV models are rarely cheap. The QX55 has a high price, but does it provide enough value to consumers to justify its cost? The short answer is no. According to Car and Driver, the QX55’s best trim is the mid-level Essential trim. It starts at $52,625. The Essential trim includes features that often come standard on luxury SUVs like heated and cooled front seats.

The QX55 is ranked twenty-fifth on Car and Driver’s list of luxury SUV models. Rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe received much better reviews. The QX55 offers reasonable power but its cabin can’t compete with cabins built by automakers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The luxury SUV lacks the cargo space that larger models provide. Android users need to plug in their devices to activate Android Auto. Ultimately. the QX55 just doesn’t provide the “wow factor” that a vehicle of its price should.

The luxury SUV coupe vehicle segment is a peculiar segment because these vehicles lack many of the qualities that consumers specifically look for in SUV models. They rarely have cabins and cargo areas that are spacious enough for the average consumer. If you happen to be in the market for such a vehicle, Mercedes and BMW both offer better alternatives.

The 2022 Infiniti QX55 is a pass because there are too many final trim level compact SUV models that offer much more standard features and creature comforts for thousands of dollars less. The luxury SUV model just doesn’t provide enough value for its price, and that will make it a hard pass for most consumers. The Mazda CX-5 Signature may not be a luxury compact SUV but it comes with plenty of opulent features for nearly $9,000 less than the QX55.
