The 2022 Hyundai Palisade Includes More Standard Features

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade base SE trim comes with features that were previously standard on the SEL or higher trims. It includes blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance, safe exit assistance, and side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators.

It might not be an easy decision between the 2021 and 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The new Hyundai Palisade did sweeten the deal for 2022 by including more standard features. But the upgrades come with a higher price tag.

2022 Hyundai Palisade: What’s new?

The 2021 Palisade has an MSRP of $32,675. You can get started in a 2022 Hyundai Palisade for $33,150. This is a very modest price increase to gain more standard features. Also, these prices are the MSRP, so they are listed before dealership markups, and destination fees have been added.

The destination charge is $1,225, which is a $40 increase from 2021. Also, it costs $1,700 to add all-wheel drive to any trim. Being able to add AWD to any trim is a nice perk because this option isn’t always available on base models.

What are the new standard Palisade features?

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade base SE trim comes with features that were previously standard on the SEL or higher trims. It includes blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance, safe exit assistance, and side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators. Also, dark brown upholstery is no longer available with the top-of-the-line Calligraphy trim.

With the Premium package on the SEL model, you get the larger 10.3-inch infotainment system, in-dash navigation, lane-keeping assist, a heated steering wheel, power-folding third-row seats, and the Hyundai semi-autonomous driving mode. But AWD isn’t included.

The Limited trim with AWD includes Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats in the front and second row, a 12-speaker Harmon/Kardon audio system, a head-up display, 360-degree camera system, a digital instrument panel, and configurable ambient lighting.

You can upgrade to the luxurious Calligraphy trim for an extra $925, and AWD comes standard. It also includes faux suede leather, quilted-leather door inserts, a unique grille, wheel designs, and front and rear fascias.

Is the 2022 Palisade worth buying?

Yes, the 2022 Hyundai Palisade is an excellent choice for families. This comfortable SUV offers plenty of space and luxury for family trips and daily driving. It ranks incredibly close to the Kia Telluride but provides a more luxurious feel.

The Palisade comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that provides 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.6 seconds, which is average. The brakes are confident, but the steering is a little vague.

You’ll find that the Palisade delivers a smooth ride with minimal road noise. The seats in the first and second row are well-padded and supportive. The third row is a little tight and still provides comfortable seats.

There are 18 cubic feet behind the third row with up to 87 cubes of cargo space total. The underfloor compartment provides extra storage, and the Palisade can tow up to 5,000 lbs. Trailer pre-wiring and sway control are standard.

An 8.0-inch infotianment screen is standard on lower trims, but you can opt for the 10.3-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. You can opt for up to seven USB ports to keep everyone’s devices charged.

Both the 2021 and 2021 Palisade models are excellent, well-rounded SUVs to consider. The minimal price increase provides a great deal for the extra features that are now included.
