If you are shopping for an American-made truck, you may want to consider the 2022 Honda Ridgeline. That’s right, despite Honda being a Japanese auto manufacturer, the new Ridgeline is built right here in the States. And to some buyers, that means something. That said, the Honda Ridgeline has never really been the most popular mid-size pickup. Because of that, this truck might get overlooked by some shoppers.

Where is the 2022 Ridgeline made?

The Honda Ridgeline is built in Lincoln, Alabama. It was also developed by Honda engineers in the U.S., which makes it an American-made truck. According to Honda News, the Ridgeline is not the only vehicle that Honda builds in AL. Other models include the Odyssey, Pilot, and Passport, which is something that some buyers are likely to appreciate.

The 2022 Ridgeline is a unibody truck. And that means it does not use the traditional body-on-frame construction that other pickups do. Because of that, the Ridgeline feels more like a crossover than a truck. With a comfortable ride and a number of convenient features, Honda’s mid-size truck does deserve a second look.

Is the Honda Ridgeline a good buy?

If you are looking for a mid-size truck, the 2022 Ridgeline is decent enough. The Ridgeline does have a starting price of $38,140, but for that price, you do get quite a bit. Each Honda truck comes standard with all-wheel drive and a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower.

The only other mid-size trucks that come standard with a V6 are the 2022 Nissan Frontier and 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Both of those pickups do not have the comfortable driving experience of the new Ridgeline.

Which Honda truck is best?

In terms of which Honda Ridgeline is best, the RTL offers a good mix of value and features. It comes with a leather interior, heated front seats, and active safety features. The starting price is $41,120, which does put it over $40k. So that’s something to consider when buying this mid-size truck.

The 2022 Ridgeline is available in four unique trim levels. And that means there should be a version that works for your specific needs. Whether you are shopping for a basic truck or the top-trim Black Edition.

Does the Honda Ridgeline have utility?

Both inside and out, the 2022 Honda Ridgeline has a variety of convenient features. One of these features is an in-bed audio system. This feature turns your pickup truck bed into one giant speaker. Something that is sure to be appreciated while you are camping or at a tailgate.

If you are searching for a truck that is built right here in America, the Ridgeline is a worthy mid-size pickup. Even if it is a vehicle that does not sell all that well. Each Honda Ridgeline can tow 5,000 lbs. This pickup can also haul nearly 1,600 lbs, which does mean that the Ridgeline has some utility. Just not as much as its rivals like the Chevy Colorado and Ford Ranger.
