The Honda Accord has been a front-runner in the midsize sedan segment for decades. The 2022 Accord has reaped multiple awards including Car and Driver’s “10 Best Cars” and Kelley Blue Book’s “2021 Best Buy: Midsize Car.” Those are some pretty heavy-hitting titles, but the Accord can now add another notch to its belt as it was just voted the “Best Midsize Car for the Money” by U.S. News.

If you’re shopping for a car, then it’s a no-brainer to check out what Honda has to offer. The Japanese automaker has always been known for churning out some of the most reliable vehicles in the market with some of the best value in the business. For the 2022 model year, the Accord embodies this ethos by offering buyers a comfortable ride with enough space for five adults and loads of features that you can usually find from a class above.

U.S. News picked the 2022 Honda Accord as the “Best Midsize Car for the Money” based on safety and reliability data as well as “the collective opinion of the automotive press.” The criteria included how the car drives, how comfortable its interior is, and how well it’s connectivity and other tech features work. The publication then combined all of that data to get an overall numerical score and come to the final designation.

While the Honda Accord is obviously no stranger to being at the top of its class, it’s still impressive that it beat out some strong stalwarts within the category. U.S. News gave the Accord an overall rating of 8.9 out of 10, which bests the ratings of both the 2021 Mazda6 (8.6) and the 2022 Toyota Camry (8.5). The competitors from Korea – the Hyundai Sonata and the Kia K5 – each received a rating of 8.2.

Overall, the Honda Accord is definitely one of the best choices if you’re in the market for a midsize sedan. In its review of the Accord, U.S. News touted it as a “terrific car” that has a “spacious and premium interior” and is “athletic and enjoyable to drive day to day.” That enjoyment is a product of the Accord’s supple ride characteristics and a potent turbocharged engine lineup that offer a good balance of performance and fuel economy.

It’s not all puppy dogs and roses, though, as the Accord does cost a little more than its competition. Additionally, some prospective buyers may not be keen on the Accord’s exterior styling and interior layout. However, considering it has won many awards from the likes of Kelley Blue Book, Car and Driver, and now, U.S. News, it’s safe to say that the 2022 Honda Accord is basically a sure-fire bet for anyone looking for the best midsize car for their money.
