The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid is enjoying stellar sales. This news is great for the Blue Oval, but not so great for consumers looking to purchase the small hybrid pickup truck anytime soon. According to Road Show by CNET, Ford’s smallest truck is already almost sold out.

Ford Maverick orders are expected to be completely filled after spooky season. Consumers won’t be able to purchase the truck until the summer if orders are filled.

Ford Maverick pre-orders indicated that the truck was set to be wildly popular. A large percentage of pre-orders came from Los Angeles and San Francisco, so the Maverick could be a hit in major cities as more models are produced.

Why is the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid almost sold out?

How come so many people are flocking toward the Maverick Hybrid? Based on the location of the pre-orders it’s safe to assume that consumers have embraced the Maverick for city driving. The tiny hybrid pickup truck has several unique features and capabilities that make it perfect for the city.

The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid’s main selling point is its incredible fuel economy. The Maverick Hybrid gets an astounding 42 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. Its fuel efficiency isn’t just good for a truck, it’s better than most vehicles on the market.

The Maverick is also perfect for the city because its truck bed, the Flexbed, provides more utility than the average truck bed. The Flexbed features pre-threaded holes and slots that owners could use to organize the bed to their liking using plastic or wood dividers. Ford has even posted several YouTube videos on different Flexbed designs to maximize space and functionality.

Another reason that the Ford Maverick Hybrid is almost sold out is its size. The Maverick is 200 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 69 inches high. The Ford Ranger is almost a foot longer by comparison. The Maverick is able to maneuver more easily and squeeze into smaller parking spaces than most trucks.

Will the Ford Maverick Hybrid continue to sell well this summer?

The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid has proven that it is one of the most sought-after new trucks on the market. When the Maverick is once again available it will be during a new season. Some buyers will get their truck in time to battle the elements, but nothing about the Maverick’s specs indicate that it will perform particularly well in the winter.

The summer is the Maverick’s time to shine. Consumers will be relieved that they once again have the opportunity to purchase the most popular new hybrid truck on the market and there is little reason that they won’t jump at the chance to own one, especially given its $19,995 price.

The future of the Ford Maverick depends on how well the Blue Oval is able to meet with demand. Ford models like the F-150 Lightning and Ford Bronco are on a painfully slow production and delivery schedule. Ford has built up enough anticipation for the Maverick and now they must produce models quickly enough to meet demand or lose sales to rival trucks like the Hyundai Santa Cruz.
