Virtually no vehicle is immune to recalls. Even the best models can be subject to recalls for safety issues, factory mistakes, or other problems. And, the 2022 Ford Maverick is no different. Recently, the small truck from Ford faced a new recall which affects multiple models. This recall is especially important as it affects 391,836 different Maverick, F-Series, and other Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The malfunction can increase the braking distance and risk of a crash, so owners affected are encouraged to act quickly to remedy the mistake.

The Ford Maverick has already faced a few recalls since its introduction. The most recent of these was reported in September of 2022. The most recent of these is a software error that may cause problems while towing a trailer. According to autoevolution, Ford had trouble replicating the issue, but in February the manufacturer took responsibility. Noting that the blame falls on the supplier Horizon Global.

In order to correct the issues, owners of these impacted vehicles should visit the dealership in order to reflash the software. In the same month, the issue was confirmed by Ford, and the software change started happening at the factory. Which helped to reduce just how many Ford models were impacted.

Even though it has already had some recalls, that does not mean the Ford Maverick is not a good truck. It boasts things like available all-wheel drive and it comes standard with a hybrid powertrain. Better yet, with a starting MSRP of around $20,000, the Maverick is notably affordable.

Another perk of this small truck is the variety of trim levels available. Whether shopping for a no-frills option or something a little better equipped, the 2022 Ford Maverick offers it. And that doesn’t stop with typical recall issues.

If your truck is facing an active recall, you may be wondering where to get the work performed, but the answer is fairly straightforward, as recalls are fixed at a dealership. Local dealerships are required to fix all recalls for the driving public, at no cost to the owner. And while some recalls may be more frustrating than others, not having to pay out-of-pocket is a nice fact.

It is worth mentioning that the vehicle owner is responsible for getting their truck to the dealership in order to have the recall performed. And, things like supply chain issues can have an impact on parts needed to make repairs. Which can lead to some frustration if your truck is in the shop for an extended period.

For most recalls issued, it is often determined that vehicles are still road-worthy, even while they wait for a trip to the dealership. But, if your Ford Maverick is impacted by the current recall situation, it is best to have work done as soon as possible. That way, you know that your small truck is functioning the way it should.
