According to an off-roading guide by Edmunds, vehicles with over 8.5 inches of ground clearance are well-equipped for off-roading adventures.

The Ford Expedition Timberline towers above other SUVs with best-in-class ground clearance. The large SUV also features 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires for increased traction to power through sticky situations without slipping.

The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline is a great off-road vehicle. The Expedition Timberline includes many different off-roading features like Trail-Turn Assist, a feature also included with the Ford Bronco. Trail-Turn Assist is a feature that improves handling while turning through rough terrain.

The Timberline uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 440 horsepower. It gets 17 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway. The SUV has a 28.5-degree approach angle and a 23.7-degree departure angle.

The Ford Expedition Timberline has enough torque to overcome obstacles while off-roading. It is one of many new SUVs with the ability to take the road less traveled.

The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline starts at $66,960. The Timberline has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. Plenty of automakers are rolling out off-road trims, but the Timberline appears to be one of the more capable models. Although the large SUV isn’t the flashiest, it gets the job done on trails and beyond.

The Expedition Timberline may be a bulky three-row SUV, but this Ford can get to places that the average SUV cannot, thanks to its high ground clearance and all-terrain tires. If you’re looking for a powerful and luxurious off-road SUV, the Expedition Timberline can meet your needs.

The Timberline truly shines exploring the wilderness, so if you aren’t an adventurer, this large SUV may be a pass. If you and a large group of friends or family members enjoy connecting with nature on a regular basis, this new Expedition may be the perfect model for you. The large SUV may not be the most capable off-roader on the market, but it surely is ready for adventure.
