This 2022 Ford Bronco Pays Homage to Florida’s Wetlands
As a vast span of wetlands in the United States, the Everglades is a unique ecosystem not found anywhere else on planet earth. Now, Ford is paying homage to this region in form of the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades. A special version of Ford’s off-road SUV. The Everglades model adds a number of features and increased capability over the standard Bronco. This variant has proved itself to be extremely popular, and it has already sold out.
How good is the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades?
The Bronco Everglades is an extremely capable SUV. Ford has added a factory-installed winch as well as a snorkel system. Meaning that this off-road SUV can handle some serious water fording and is equipped for vehicle recovery. Additionally, there are Bilstein shocks to help traverse rugged terrain.
Other notable features include 35-inch mud-terrain tires, which are not featured on your typical Ford Bronco. The Blue Oval has also included electronic-locking front and rear axles with a 4.7 final drive ratio.
Is the 2022 Bronco Everglades expensive?
In terms of cost, the Bronco Everglades is not all that cheap. And unfortunately, you can no longer order one from the factory. According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades has a starting cost of $53,000. And that is significantly more expensive than the base Bronco model. But, for that cost you do get quite a bit of features.
The Bronco Everglades is only offered in the four-door variant, which means that you can’t get it with the two-door version. And, if you wanted this SUV with the seven-speed manual transmission, you are out of luck.
Can you buy this SUV?
Unshockingly, the Bronco Everglades is no longer available for retail order. You might be able to find one at a dealership, but it will probably come with a markup over the suggested price. Even the standard 2022 Bronco has been a popular SUV. So, it is no surprise that a model as well-equipped as the Everglades would sell out quickly.
Ford has yet to confirm if the Everglades trim will be offered to future Bronco models. But for the sake of enthusiasts, hopefully, it is. That way, more folks can experience what this off-road SUV has to offer.
Is the 2022 Bronco a good buy?
If you want a capable SUV with legitimate automotive heritage, the Bronco is likely a good pick for you. It features a variety of powertrains and even more trim levels. Plus, it just looks plain cool.
Although some owners have reported some problems with their Bronco SUVs, overall, it seems to be fairly reliable. But, it is still a new vehicle, so more issues could arise down the road. For now, all 2022 Ford Broncos are not available for retail order from Ford. That is likely due to supply chain constraints and the high demand that this model is facing. Maybe for the upcoming 2023 model, Ford will figure out some of these supply issues. Because it would be great to see more Bronco SUVs on area roads.
