The Bronco MRSP goes up to $49,475. Car and Driver also says that it’s unknown whether the Ford Bronco Everglades will come as a two-door or four-door model. Why do SUVs have snorkels?

People who like to take their SUVs heavy-duty off-roading may choose to have snorkels put on their SUVs. Or, in the case of the Bronco Everglades, the SUV may already have a snorkel installed. Snorkels are put onto the air intake of SUVs to keep water out of the engines. This is useful if you’ll be crossing water in your off-road travels. While you may be able to cross very shallow water without a snorkel, entering into deeper water requires a snorkel to keep your engine safe.

By installing a snorkel on the air intake of your SUV, a seal is created that allows your engine to continue taking in air without taking in water. If your engine takes in water, that’s called hydrolocking, and it can destroy your engine. You should seriously consider having a snorkel put on your SUV if you’ll ever be crossing water that comes near the electrical elements of your SUV.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades is still a largely unknown vehicle, but what is known about it is incredibly intriguing. Will it be a standalone model or a trim level added on to the regular Ford Bronco? That remains to be seen. The 2022 Bronco Everglades is set to arrive in the summer of 2022.
