Consumer Reports keeps track of the best deals on new vehicles. Through at least the month of January, GM dealers are offering 6% off the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse nationwide. What’s more, some dealerships may be offering higher regional incentives.

With a range of options, brand new Chevy Traverse prices range from $33,700-$53,400. Consumer Reports says that for the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse Premier AWD (with its $49,200 MSRP) you would save $2,763. This savings drops your final price to just $46,437.

Consumer Reports highly recommends the Chevy Traverse

The folks at Consumer Reports are big fans of the latest (refreshed) 2022 Traverse. The reviewers gave this third-row SUV an 83/100.

Safety-oriented families will be happy to know the Traverse earned its highest CR scores for braking and rear seat comfort–both 5/5. Honorable mentions included its acceleration, ride, noise, front-seat comfort, interior fit/finish, and cargo area–all 4/5.

The Achilles heel of the Chevy Traverse is its fuel economy. Chevrolet only offers the SUV with a V6. This engine is the 3.6-liter LGX V6. CR found its city efficiency to be 14 mpg and highway 28 mpg. The SUV got 20 mpg overall.

Owners also love their Chevrolet Traverse

In addition to testing the 2022 Traverse, Consumer Reports surveyed owners. The owners’ response was overwhelmingly positive. Overall, Traverse owners ranked the experience of driving their Chevy 81/100. They also gave its overall comfort 84/100.

Chevy Traverse owners who paid full price do not seem to think they got a great deal on their traverse. For a value rating, they gave the Traverse just 54/100. Perhaps this is why GM is offering Chevy Traverse deals.

Another reason Chevrolet may be offering Traverse deals is its sales numbers. The company sold almost 150,000 Traverse SUVs in 2018 and 2019 each. But in 2021, the vehicle’s sales slumped to 116,251.

The Traverse sales slump may be due to economic issues or supply issues caused by the chip shortage. But whatever the reason, Chevrolet is taking no chances. The automaker refreshed the Traverse for 2022.

The Chevy Traverse 2022 update included LED headlights, new rims, front and rear sheet metal, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Chevy even offers an eight-inch infotainment screen.
