The Suburban gets just 11 mpg in the city, which isn’t fantastic. On the highway it’s a little better – twice as good, in fact. The 2022 Suburban gets 22 mpg on the highway. It’s worth noting that the 2022 GMC Yukon XL has the same fuel economy as the Chevy Suburban. That’s thanks to the Suburban’s 11 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Consumer Reports notes that the 2022 GMC Yukon XL has the same fuel economy.

According to fueleconomy.gov, the diesel Suburban will cost you $3,150 in gas per year. It also says that the 2022 Chevy Suburban uses 20.6 barrels of petroleum each year. In addition, its greenhouse gas rating is only a 3/10. This is not an environmentally-friendly SUV, but you probably already suspected that.

In addition, you’ll pay about $5.27 to drive 25 miles as well as $94 to fill your SUV’s tank. The 2022 Suburban can hold up to 28 gallons of gas.
