The Cadillac Escalade has long been one of the most well-known and popular large luxury SUVs. Although, in recent years, it’s been a bit lackluster compared to much of the competition. However, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade received a few upgrades for the new model year. Is it better than the 2021 model? Here are the new features and technology that come with the 2022 Escalade.

There aren’t a lot of changes for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade from the 2021 model of the luxury SUV. Starting in 2022, lane-keeping assist and lane departure warning are standard on the base Luxury trim. The Premium Luxury, Sport, and Platinum models also come with Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving feature and rear automated emergency braking. There’s also a brand new Touring package, adding an air suspension, soft-close doors, and illuminated door sill protector plates for Premium Luxury and Sport models.

With new features and technology for the base trim and higher, there are many choices to be made. Which trim is the best option if you’re in the market for a new Cadillac Escalade? It really depends on your needs and budget, but even the base model is exceptionally luxurious and decked out with excellent features.

Cadillac Escalade trim levels

There are five trim levels to choose from for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade. Each one is better than the last, and by better, we mean filled with features and technology. As with many expensive luxury models, the highest trims are costly. However, as we all know, these models are so filled with features you could live in one comfortably. Since they almost cost as much as a house, you should be able to.

Surprisingly, critics disagree on which trim level you should buy. For instance, Car and Driver recommend buying the top-of-the-line 2022 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury Platinum. Its reasoning is that it comes with all the best features available, including semi-aniline leather, 16-way power-adjustable front seats with massage, soft-close doors, and a 36-speaker AKG audio system. Additionally, self-parking, a head-up display, and adaptive cruise control are all standard.

On the other hand, MotorTrend recommends the Premium Luxury trim. Not only is it nearly $20,000 cheaper than CAD’s recommendation, but it also has plenty of features and technology for most people. Unsurprisingly, most people don’t end up using things like massaging seats very often. They do, however, use Super Cruise, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a digital rearview mirror, and a head-up display. All of which come with the 2022 Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury model.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good luxury SUV?

Overall, the Escalade gets high marks from reviewers. Notably, the Escalade’s styling, standard Super Cruise technology, and highly upscale interior make it an excellent luxury SUV option. Funnily enough, Car and Driver says it has “more technology than an Apple Store,” which isn’t entirely inaccurate. If there’s a feature you want in your new SUV, chances are the 2022 Escalade has it or can for the right price.

In conclusion, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is one of the most upscale luxury SUVs money can buy. Unfortunately, it will take a lot of money to buy one as the prices range from $77,890 to $105,740. There aren’t many new upgrades for the new model year, but the ones the automaker added are welcomed.
