Large luxury SUVs can get very pricey. As a result, consumers expect great value for the hefty price tags that come with large luxury SUVs. The X7’s price is high but it comes with plenty of tech and a spacious, comfortable interior lined with premium cabin materials.

According to Car and Driver, the 2022 BMW X7 starts at a whopping $75,895. German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz is in constant competition with BMW but Car and Driver ranks the BMW X7 above several Benz models. So, does the X7 really warrant a price tag above $75K?

The 2022 BMW X7 comes standard with an XDrive40i turbocharged six-cylinder engine that makes a massive 335 horsepower. It also has an optional V8 engine that makes 523 horses for the M50i and 612 horses for the Alpina XB7. The BMW X7 gets 19 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2022 BMW X7 features a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and heated front seats. The X7 also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, and synthetic leather upholstery.

The BMW X7 comes standard with several advanced safety features as well. It includes a forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

The new BMW X7 comes standard with a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also features a standard 10-speaker audio system as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot and built-in navigation.

Should you buy a BMW X7?

The BMW X7 is the pinnacle of large luxury SUVs. Car and Driver gave the 2022 BMW X7 a 9.5/10 rating. The X7 delivers exactly what you would expect from a large BMW SUV. Its interior is as comfy as possible and its powertrain options are exciting.

The 2022 BMW X7 is too expensive for the average consumer. There are plenty of large SUV models like the Ford Expedition that are much more affordable. The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is also a more affordable option. The X7 isn’t the wisest purchase when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck but few automakers do luxury the way BMW does.

If you can afford the 2022 BMW X7, it’s an amazing large luxury SUV model. Its wow factor comes from its powertrain and its cabin is just the icing on the cake. Is it the best large luxury SUV on the market? That’s entirely up to you.
