The 2022 BMW iX is BMW’s latest electric vehicle. The iX is a fully electric luxury midsize SUV with plenty of driving range and great performance specs. The main question on the minds of consumers is, what will this fancy new electric SUV cost?

How much will the iX cost?

The 2022 BMW iX comes in two different configurations. There’s the entry-level iX xDrive50 and the iX M60 performance model. The iX XDrive50 starts at $83,200. The iX M60 starts at $105,100.

Both electric SUVs have decent range and power, but the iX M60 is in a league of its own. The two iX models are both eligible for federal electric vehicle tax credits of $7,500.

The iX xDrive50 makes 516 horses and 564 lb-ft of torque with its dual electric motors. It gets at least 305 miles of driving range.

The iX M60 makes a whopping 610 horses and an exhilarating 811 lb-ft of torque. It gets up to 280 miles of driving range. Either iX model is impressive, but the iX M60 shows the true potential of electric BMW models.

The last few years have been integral to the progress of the electric vehicle industry. EVs now account for a larger percentage of the new vehicle market share than ever before. America is actually trailing behind many other countries when it comes to the adoption of electric vehicles.

German automaker BMW is known for producing the pinnacle of luxury vehicles. BMW and Mercedes-Benz consistently produce some of the best luxury automobiles year after year. The i4 and iX are carrying on the tradition and ushering the historic brand into the electric future.

BMW couldn’t have picked a better time to release an electric luxury midsize SUV. The iX M60 can go toe to toe with the Model X.

The electric luxury SUV segment is slowly emerging. Automakers are also offering impressive fully loaded final trim configurations of popular EVs like the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited. There’s a lane for electric luxury, and BMW intends to take it over.

Should you buy a BMW iX?

Even after EV tax credits, the base model iX costs north of $75K. If you are willing to shell out over $75,000 for a luxury midsize electric SUV model, the iX brings the value.

It comes standard with perforated Sensatec upholstery, an upholstered instrument panel with stitching, and a floating center console. As far as luxury EVs go, the iX is undoubtedly among the best of the best. According to InsideEVs, BMW sold 347 models in the first quarter.
