The 2021 Toyota Avalon is one of the most underrated large sedans of the years, taking a back-burner to the brand’s more popular options like the Camry. If you haven’t added the Avalon to your list of potential four-doors to take for a test drive, you may want to reconsider because the 2021 model year offers a surprising amount of luxury, receiving recommendations from several big-name reviewers.

Recommendations from Edmunds

When it comes to searching for how reliable and worth-while a vehicle, it makes sense to go to third-party reviewers rather than the manufacturer themselves to get unbiased opinions. According to Edmunds, the 2021 Toyota Avalon is one of the best full-sized sedans of the year, winning their #1 spot for the category, and receiving overall high scores on its report card from the reviewer.

It isn’t just Edmunds, other reviewers agree too

Edmunds isn’t the only one to give the 2021 Toyota Avalon high marks, as Consumer Reports also added the four-door to their list of recommended vehicles. It seems there is quite a unanimously positive opinion of the 2021 Toyota Avalon, but it is still far from a popular option.

One thing that could potentially be holding the vehicle back is the price, where you can find many options like the Toyota Camry for an affordable price, the entry-level luxury sedan starts in the high $30,000 range to buy one brand new, and while that is a fair price when comparing the Avalon to other options in the same price, it is easy to get distracted by choices from luxury brands like BMW and Audi for the same price.

Why the Toyota Avalon stands out

The 2021 Toyota Avalon receives high marks for it’s comfort and surprising amount of luxury, but it has more to offer still. Unlike some other luxury brands that offer the same amenities and features, the Avalon still has the reliability of the Toyota name, and isn’t as expensive to maintain as some other German car brands. It is consistently noted for offering a quiet and smooth drive, providing an ample amount of space for passengers and cargo, and even featuring high-tech safety options, making it a very well-rounded sedan for the price.

Overall, the 2021 Avalon recieves recommendations from so many sources that its hard to pass up a test drive, and if the reports are correct, there is a pretty good chance that you’ll fall in love with this four-door option.
