There are several pickup trucks with poor fuel economy. Most pickup trucks these days aren’t known for their fuel economy. TAnd et, even as electric vehicles become more common and smaller, more technologically advanced vehicles become more common, pickup trucks remain popular.

Car and Driver says that in 2019, Ford sold “more than 100 F-Series pickups globally every hour…” Obviously pickups remain coveted, despite their poor fuel economy. These pickup trucks aren’t known for their fuel efficiency, but are great for moving large things. Let’s see what some of the most popular pickups with the worst fuel economy are.

The 2021 Nissan Titan has a low fuel economy rating

The 2021 Nissan Titan has a 1/5 for its fuel economy rating. It gets 16 mpg overall, and costs roughly $1,855 annually in fuel. Its greenhouse gas rating is a 3/10 and its smog rating is a 5/10.

The 2021 Ram 1500 Classic could have better fuel economy

The 2021 Ram 1500 also gets a 1/5 for its fuel economy, with 15 mpg overall. It costs approximately $1,960 to fuel the Ram Classic per year. Its greenhouse gas rating is a 3/10 and its smog rating is a 3/10.

The 2021 Ford F-150’s fuel economy is the best of the pickup trucks with poor fuel economy

The 2021 Ford F-150 only gets a 2 for fuel economy, according to Consumer Reports, but that’s double any of the other trucks on this list. It gets 19 mpg and costs roughly $1,545 annually in fuel. 

The F-150’s greenhouse gas rating is a 4, while the smog rating is a 6.

The 2021 Chevy Silverado’s fuel economy is also not the best

The 2021 Chevy Silverado’s fuel economy is also a 1/5, and it gets 17 mpg. The estimated annual fuel costs for the Silverado are $1,715. 

The greenhouse gas rating for the Silverado is a 3, and the smog rating is also a 5. 

The 2021 Ram 1500’s fuel economy isn’t much better

The fuel economy for the 2021 Ram 1500 is also a 1. You’ll get as many mpg as the Silverado, so either truck is a good option if you’re torn between the two.

The annual cost for the Ram is $1,695. The greenhouse gas rating is a 3, and the smog rating is a 5. Don’t breathe too deeply while driving the Ram.

The 2021 Ford F-250 has poor fuel economy

The 2021 Ford F-250 has the same fuel rating as the rest of the pickup trucks on this list; a 1. The F-250 is also the most expensive pickup on this list to fill, at $2,055.

The 2021 Toyota Tundra doesn’t have good fuel economy

With a fuel economy rating of 1/5, the 2021 Toyota Tundra only gets 15 mpg in Consumer Reports test. Its projected annual cost for gas is about $1,970. This is based on an estimated 12,000 miles of driving annually. The fuel capacity for the Tundra is 26.4 gallons. The greenhouse gas rating for the 2021 Toyota Tundra is only a 1/5. The smog rating is a 5/10.

Although these pickup trucks have poor fuel economy, there are still lots of things to love about them. Yet if you want to be more environmentally aware, this is good information to have.
