The 2021 Mercedes GLB250 Makes it Hard to Complain

After a week in the 2021 Mercedes GLB250, it’s apparent that this Mercedes SUV is a compelling and versatile family vehicle. It’s actually difficult to imagine another luxury vehicle of this size and price point offering more satisfaction. Overall, the 2021 Mercedes GLB250 makes it hard to complain.

When I test a vehicle, I try to frame my findings as if I were an owner. What would it be like to own this car long-term? Is it worth the money? Plus, I like to get my whole family in each car a few times to see how it works as a family-friendly vehicle. The 2021 GLB250 is a near-perfect family vehicle.

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB250 pricing

If you head over to the Mercedes-Benz USA website, the 2021 GLB250 has a starting price of $38,050. That is for the 2WD model. Honestly, for many buyers this base model GLB250 has plenty to offer. The packages can add up, making this luxury SUV higher in pricing. However, this is still a really accessible price for a Mercedes SUV that’s ready and willing to accommodate an entire family.

The model we borrowed is a 2021 GLB250 4Matic SUV with a sticker price of $49,755. For this price, drivers get virtually everything. Kinetic seats, upgraded infotainment, and a top-of-the-line digital gauge cluster display. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB250 even tells you what moon phase you’re in–– in case you need to know the lunar patterns while driving, of course. Who doesn’t need that?

It comes standard with everything you’d expect. Then the added features included in the packages featured in this model and you’ve got a great luxury SUV for under $50 grand. That’s hard to beat.

The 2021 Mercedes GLB250 has an awesome two-tone interior

One of the most striking details my family enjoyed is the two-toned leather seats. In the one we drove, the seats were called “Neva Grey/Black MB-Tex.” But the effect was more of a black and white piano key look. With the cabin lighting that could be set to virtually any color with different sequencing and flow settings, the ambiance is unique and upscale––and completely customizable.

The two-tone upholstery just adds to the effect. Suddenly, you’re at the disco. Then, you’re under the sea. When you put the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB250 in sport mode, the lighting goes racer red. If you crank the zoned climate control to frigid settings, the GLB250 cabin goes glacier blue. The cabin settings alone are a sensational sensory experience.

Why buy this Mercedes SUV?

If you have a family and want a luxury SUV, this one deserves a place on the shopping list of most families. It goes above and beyond––even offering an optional third row for those that want to be able to accommodate a few more kids. Car seats are easily installed and my family of four fit into this model without so much as a hiccup.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB250 is the right SUV for families that want more than a car or hatchback has to offer. The price starts in a nice place, but the available packages allow for buyers to customize this vehicle into their own ultimate family unit. This Mercedes SUV makes it hard to complain.
