The sporty roadster earned itself a high score of an 87, with the reviewer winning a place as the #1 car in its category of 2021 roadsters. The website notes that the MX-5 has a spotless track record for reliability and owner satisfaction and doesn’t ease up on the enjoyable driving experience. Sure, it may not push four-figure horsepower numbers, but that is part of what makes it a practical daily driver and enjoyable streetcar.

What problems does the Mazda MX-5 have?

There haven’t been any questions as to the reliability of the 2021 Mazda MX-5, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t without problems. After all, a car that offers this unique driving experience for the price must be missing something, right? For the MX-5, test drivers have complained of a loud cabin that permits road and engine noises, and it also isn’t the most comfortable vehicle to drive. But, many drivers don’t care, as the Miata line has been known for putting the driving experience first and comfort on the back burner.

How much does the 2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata cost?

After all, there isn’t another sports car you can buy new for this price that offers a similar driving and handling experience. The base model MX-5 starts at $26,830 and only goes up from there in small increments. Just above the base model is the Club, which you can expect to see for around $30,290, or you can take it all the way to the highest trim level, the Grand Touring, for $31,770.

Overall, the 2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata is still a great roadster for the price. While it might not be perfect and luxurious, drivers and owners could argue that these complaints simply add to the car’s raw driving experience, making it a little quirky and a whole lot of fun.
