In the world of luxury crossovers, the Lexus RX 450h is like a trusty, well-dressed friend that you can always depend on. If you’re stuck in a snowstorm, the RX 450h will handily get you out of a rut, thanks to its capable all-wheel-drive system. And if you need to take a long road trip, you’ll enjoy the RX 450h’s excellent fuel economy and comfortable ride. This goes to show, that no matter where you go, the 2021 Lexus RX 450h is a classy and comfortable cruiser.

The 2021 Lexus RX 450h is supremely comfortable

In some ways, it’s hard to relate just how comfortable the 2021 Lexus RX450h is. When you slip inside and sit down, the power-adjustable driver’s seat adorned in NuLuxe leather hugs you in all of the right ways and provides a good seating position. There are soft-touch materials everywhere and the dark wood accents provide a rich, smooth contrast.

Even the placement of the shifter is spot-on, it’s close to the driver so there’s no need to reach, and I especially like that it’s a normal shifter as opposed to buttons or a dial. The ergonomics are great too as the buttons are laid out well and there’s even a volume and tuning knob for the radio. Call me old-fashioned, but when you want to manually tune your tunes to your liking, you’ll be glad they are there, too.

Changing the suspension settings doesn’t do much

My tester was the F Sport variant, which meant that in addition to all of the sporty F Sport add-ons like the mesh grille and 20-inch wheels, this RX450h also has an adaptive variable suspension. I made sure to play around with the dial selector in the center console to switch between drive modes while driving. Having done that, I can attest to the difference in suspension feel when you switch between “Eco” and “Sport +.”

In Eco, the Lexus RX450’s ride feels soft and compliant, like you’re riding on a couch. But in the Sport +, the ride firms up a little, and you can hear and feel the imperfections in the road. The ride is not “race track stiff” by any means, but it will communicate what you want into when tackling corners with enthusiasm.

The Lexus RX450h adds a touch of class to your day

Aside from all of the F Sport sportiness, the Lexus RX450h exudes the type of classiness you would expect out of a luxury crossover. Its upscale interior matches well with the soft curves in the car’s exterior aesthetic. There’s a certain overall softness to the car that makes you feel like you’re in a cocoon opulence, without feeling too gaudy.

Ultimately, the Lexus RX450h is a comfortable luxury cruiser that’s easy to drive and can add a touch of sportiness to your day if you feel like it. And no matter what, it never loses its class.
