How these new packages came about

As Ford puts it, the Transit is America’s best-selling van. And, according to Tiffany Chang, Ford fleet brand strategy manager, “With many Americans working from home and practicing social distancing during the pandemic, the popularity of recreational vehicles has soared at the same time package delivery has seen incredible growth.”

Chang added, “Our new 2021 Transit options help people design the recreational vehicles of their dreams and help enable our commercial customers to more efficiently deliver goods and services across the country.”

Chang is right too. Based on data collected from the RV Industry Association, July RV shipments were the highest in 40 years. Not only that, but 46 million Americans say they plan on hitting the road for an RV trip in the next 12 months. With those numbers in mind, it’s no surprise the 2021 Ford Transit scored not one, but three new packages geared toward outdoor enthusiasts.

The 2021 Ford Transit is available with three new packages

Per Ford’s announcement, the 2021 Ford Transit is now available with three new and improved option packages. These packages include the updated Transit Motorhome Prep Package, along with the all-new RV Prep Package and the all-new Adventure Prep Package.

The Transit Motorhome Prep Package is meant for cutaways and is now available with the new economy-rated version of the popular 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. According to Ford, this engine has been designed to support high frontal area conversions like larger motorhomes. This updated package also includes Adaptive Cruise Control.

The RV Prep Package, which is meant for the Transit cargo van, includes handy driver-assist features such as a side-sensing system and Adaptive Cruise Control. It also comes equipped with heavy-duty trailer tow equipment. Step inside and you’ll find people-pleasing features like swivel driver and passenger seats and an eight-speaker sound system.

As for the Adventure Prep Package? This all-new offering bundles together popular options like all-wheel drive, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, and privacy glass. Providing peace of mind behind the wheel are driver-assist features like Adaptive Cruise Control, reverse and side-sensing systems, and a Blind Spot Information System. And to further sweeten the deal? This package also comes standard with an 8-inch color touch screen with SYNC 3 and dual USB ports.

The 2021 Ford Transit scored more than three new packages too. Ford is also offering new wheel choices and three new exterior colors to choose from.
