2020 Chevy Silverado: What You’ll Love About the Heavy-Duty Line the Most

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado provides everything heavy-duty truck owners want and need to get the job done. A powerful engine with enhanced torque and increased towing capacity is putting the bold Chevy Silverado ahead of others in its class.

The 2020 Ford Super Duty F-250 / F-350 debuted a refresh this year, and the 2020 Ram 2500 / 3500 models are looking better than ever. While both brands lead the heavy-duty market, Chevrolet is giving them a run for their money with the new 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 / 3500 models.

The improved look and feel of the truck include state-of-the-art engineering and advanced technology improvements. This new truck is worth taking a look at for those wanting to take advantage of the latest features available on the market today.

The updated HD models of the Silverado now offer a stronger 6.6-liter V8. The gas-powered engine utilizes a standard six-speed automatic transmission and provides 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. The heavy-duty truck almost silently glides down the highway with an impressive super quiet engine.

Whether you have the throttle wide-open or leave the truck idling, it’s hard to hear the sound of the engine. The typical gear grinding, abrupt shifts, and loud roar often found in trucks of this size were non-existent due to the smooth ride supplied by the superb transmission.

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado also has a diesel-powered option. The 6.6-liter Duramax V8 engine now has an updated cooling system built for towing and hauling. This beast provides up to 445 hp and an incredible 910 lb-ft of torque. The 10-speed automatic transmission helps the pickup truck go from 0 to 60 mph in a staggering 7.4 seconds. Steep grades and increased elevation are no problem with this engine, and despite its size, the Silverado is more responsive than expected.

The 2020 Chevy Silverado 3500 equipped with the turbodiesel V8 can handle up to 35,500 pounds. Compared to last year’s model, that’s an increased maximum towing capacity of more than 50 percent. Unlike other trucks in its class, this pickup requires a commercial driver’s license to operate the vehicle on public roads. That’s a lot of newfound power for the Silverado HD.

Improved appearance and enhanced features

The appearance of the new 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 has an exterior design that is turning heads going down the road, according to Cars.com. The massive grille and multi-tiered lights on the front give the truck a whole new look that helps the Silverado stand out among its competitors. The steps built into the bumper provide easy access to the cargo box and bed of the truck, which is a huge advantage when it comes to towing.

The easy-to-operate infotainment system has plenty of menu options and improved graphics. The Advanced Trailering System utilizes eight cameras to provide 15 unique camera angles for easy maneuvering and navigation. While towing, the transparent trailer view lets the driver not only see through the trailer but inside as well. There are several top-down camera views that include the trailer and hitch, which Cars.com says “feels like wizardry.”

Plenty of trim options available for the Chevy Silverado

The new Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 offers plenty of options to meet the needs and tastes of any driver. The length of the cab, bed size, choice of engine, and luxury features can all be adjusted to build the perfect truck. The base model 2500 HD has a starting sticker price of $34,600. The High Country luxury trim with the turbodiesel engine is priced upwards of $70,000. With such a broad price range, the choices are limitless.
