The 2019 Honda CR-V is a well-priced SUV that has many standard safety features. U.S. News ranked the CR-V number one on the Affordable Compact SUVs list, but that isn’t the only reason we think it is a reliable choice.

The Honda CR-V has room for five and gets around 25 miles per gallon in the city, 31 on the highway. It is offered in both a front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configuration. It has a roomy cabin and room for cargo in the back, making it ready for any adventures you want to take.

The CR-V comes in a variety of trims. The LX is the base trim. The EX comes with a 7-inch touchscreen and has some upgraded safety features standard. These include driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and road departure mitigation.

The CR-V EX-L model has upgraded leather seats and some other bits like a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also comes with a power liftgate.

The CR-V Touring model is the top-of-the-line trim level. It has satellite navigation and a premium sound system. It also comes with rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Honda CR-V Safety and warranty

U.S. News and J.D. Power gave the 2019 CR-V a score of 3.5 out of five stars. Currently, there are four recalls from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The first one is about the rear subframe bolts needing replacement.

The second recall is related to a missing sticker for the passenger airbag. Another recall is related to a weak weld on the fuel tank. Honda dealerships will replace the fuel tank free of charge.

The final recall is related to the inflator module on the passenger airbag. The dealership should install a protective cover on the steering wheel core and replace some other pieces to ensure the airbag works properly.

The Honda CR-V has a three-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty. It also has a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Honda also offers a certified pre-owned warranty. The HondaTrue Certified and Certified+ levels come with a seven-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

The NHTSA gave the 2019 CR-V an overall safety rating of five out of five. The frontal and side crash tests scored a full five stars, while the rollover crash test received a score of four stars.

What are the used SUV prices?

2018 Honda CR-V vs. Mazda CX-5: Which Is More Reliable?

Most of the 2019 Honda CR-V SUVs available on the used market are fairly priced. A used 2019 Touring edition with under 24,000 miles is available for just over $25,000. One listed CR-V EX trim with 30,000 miles is available for just over $22,000.

Most of the used 2019 CR-V options are available between $20,000 and $30,000 for a very low-mileage option. Depending on the timing, some of these might still be within the warranty period.

CarMax and AutoTrader are good places to look for used-car deals. Try to find one with the certified pre-owned warranty or be sure to get your new vehicles inspected before purchasing.
