Most people enjoy Toyota trucks for being simple, reliable, and easy to work on. However, compared to the rest of the Toyota lineup, these trucks are the most expensive to maintain. Even Toyota hybrids are cheaper!

Two Toyota trucks are the most expensive models to maintain

The two Toyota trucks that are the most expensive models in the lineup to maintain are the Toyota Tacoma and the Toyota Tundra. But these models are also the longest-lasting and most reliable models to consider.

I was a bit surprised because I expected one of Toyota’s hybrid models to be the most expensive to maintain. Replacing a battery every eight to 12 years can be expensive.

According to CarEdge, it costs about $6,731 to maintain the Toyota Tacoma for 10 years. The 10-year maintenance cost for a Toyota Tundra is about $6,922.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Toyota Prius is the cheapest model to maintain. It only costs about $4,156 to maintain for 10 years.

But compared to other trucks, the Tundra and Tacoma are doing great. The Tundra costs $3,182 less to maintain than the industry average for trucks.

It has an 18.51% chance of needing a severe repair during that time period. That’s 10.23% better than average.

It costs about $10,991 to maintain a Ford F-150 for 10 years. The Ford Ranger has an average 10-year maintenance cost of $10,511.

The Jeep Gladiator costs about $12,479 to maintain for a decade and the Ram 1500 rings in at $18,470. Ram trucks are currently the most expensive models to maintain overall.

So, while these Toyota trucks are the most expensive to maintain in the Toyota lineup, they’re bargains compared to rivals.

Plus, Toyota is the cheapest brand for maintenance costs overall, with an average of $5,445. The most expensive brand is Ram at $23,748.
