Oh, how the Toyota Tundra has fallen from grace. It used to be the most reliable full-size truck available, but things changed when the new model dropped in 2022. Now only two things are keeping it from last place.

How reliable is the 2024 Toyota Tundra?

According to J.D.Power, the 2024 Toyota Tundra has a reliability score of 82 out of 100, which isn’t bad. The score is actually great.

Ratings between 70 and 80 are average while scores between 81 and 90 are above average. Any score between 91 and 100 is best.

However, the Tundra is second to last place when you compare its reliability score to rivals. The 2024 Ram 1500 is the most reliable truck with a score of 89. Then the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 rings in with a score of 84.

The 2024 Nissan Titan has a score of 81. It’s only one point behind the Tundra and from falling into a lower category.

Too bad the Titan has been discontinued and the 2024 model is its last year in production. This means that the Tundra won’t be able to use it as a safety net in 2025. In order to avoid last place in 2025,  it will need to make quality improvements.

However, there’s one last wild card that could make a difference! The 2024 Ford F-150 hasn’t been rated yet. It’s possible that not enough drivers have responded to owner surveys to give it a legitimate score yet.

But the 2023 F-150 isn’t giving the refreshed 2024 model a lot of confidence. It has a score of 78, making it average.

It’s possible that the 2024 F-150 has quality improvements to give it a higher ranking but it could also get a lower score. It all depends on what drivers have to share about their ownership experience.

Stay tuned for updates, because the Tundra and F-105 are both at risk of being the least reliable full-size truck.
