Lexus is known for making some of the best luxury SUVs around. Its offerings tend to be nice, safe, and reliable. iSeeCars agrees, and has ranked two Lexus SUVs among the Best Luxury Midsize SUVs for 2022. Here’s why both the 2022 Lexus RX 350 and the 2022 Lexus GX 460 made the list of the best midsize luxury SUVs and whether you should consider buying one of them.

The 2022 Lexus RX 350 is one of the Best Luxury Midsize SUVs

The 2022 Lexus RX 350 ranks as one of the best luxury midsize SUVs you can buy. iSeeCars gives it an overall score of 8.7 which is good for third place. This includes a reliability rating of 8.9, a value retention score of 9.0, and a safety score of 8.4.

You’ll get a lot if you buy the 2022 Lexus RX 350. It has a starting price of $45,920, it comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and keyless entry with push-button start. It also has simulated leather upholstery, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Not bad for the base model SUV.

In addition, the Lexus RX 350 comes standard with a 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 295 hp. This gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The more powerful RX 450h, or hybrid Lexus RX, can make up to 308 hp and gets 31 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

The 2022 Lexus GX 460 is the second Lexus SUV on the list

The 2022 Lexus GX 460 is another luxury SUV on the list of the Best Luxury Midsize SUVs of 2022. It has an overall score of 8.4. Included in this is a reliability rating of 8.2 and a value retention score of 8.7. There is no available safety score for the Lexus GX 460.

The base model 2022 Lexus GX 460 price is $56,500. The Lexus GX 460 engine is a 4.6-liter 8 cylinder with 4WD matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. It can make 301 hp and 329 lb-ft of torque. As far as fuel economy in the 2022 Lexus GX 460, it gets a combined 16 mpg. That number is comprised of 15 miles in the city and 19 miles on the highway. It’s not the greatest gas mileage in an SUV, but that does happen with more powerful engines, so perhaps it isn’t a surprise. A benefit of the engine is that the 2022 Lexus GX 460 can tow up to 6,500 pounds.

To determine the rankings for the Best Luxury Midsize SUVs, iSeeCars studied the data from millions of vehicles – more than twelve million, to be exact. It looked at how vehicles are holding up and uses other information from its own data scientists. In addition, it used data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to determine which SUVs are the best.

So is it any surprise that two Lexus SUVs make the list of the top luxury vehicles? Not really. Lexus is known for its excellent reputation. With its high overall scores, either of these Lexus SUVs is likely a good choice.
